Can anyone tell me if there is a specific department or number that can be used to get someone to come out and switch on the service at the pole in my yard? Last Friday a tech came and installed my modem, ran the wiring from pole to the house etc. He then discovered that the pole was not on. I am guessing since it is a newly installed connection at the pole (ran from further up the street). When he left he said he would call and have someone activate the pole, and then he could activate my service.
Fast forward to yesterday and me not hearing anything I give them a call. The first rep I speak to has me go through the motions of resetting my modem, this after I explained the pole is not active. Only when she discovered she cannot read anything from my modem, does she then decide to transfer me to sales. The sales rep then sets me up with an appointment for today, and asks if I will be home. I ask if I really need to be home, since I already have the line to my house, from the pole, and the modem in my house, and that the service needs to be activated at the pole. They say OK, and that I do not need to be home, and will send someone out for a pole service.
Today, the tech gets here right on time. As soon as he starts talking, I know they have told him it is a standard install. I explain to him that I already have the modem ready to go, and just need the pole activated. He tells me they just told him that I needed to be connected to the pole, that he cannot do anything if the pole is not active, and that is handled by a different department. He then says that he will contact the department and get it sorted.
Is there a way I can contact said department? last time I saw an engineer out working on the pole was a month ago. I actually spoke to him and he told me all he needed to do in order for the service to be active was to splice 2 wires together. So, at this point I am assuming that was never done and he has just not been back.
Anyone know of a good contact? It's getting incredibly frustrating waiting weeks on end, calling back and being given the run around by departments who appear not to know what another one is doing.
Sorry for the rant/novel. Thanks.
