It's me again. I have the Comcast modem for now. When I'm not doing anything of note on the system, it's fine. When I start doing any sort of web surfing, the ping times shoot up. Google.com is 200+ms (usually 30ms.) In addition, the geolocation for my IP address shows I'm in Maryland. Nice for mlb.tv access to the Tigers, but that's about it.
We're not even talking major downloads. Just webpages. I can run a speed test, and I still get 18/2. Just high pings and that causes a lot of timeouts.
Any thoughts? I have a 6183 on order but obviously if their modem isn't working well on my line, I don't have much faith in the new one.
