So I recently found out a black fiber cable on existing power lines going past my house actually belongs to Comcast. I live between two small towns where both have HSI available. However, I've noticed where there is actually service, there is an additional gray cable and gray boxes on the line sporadically(repeaters or something i guess?) I am between 2.5 and 3 miles from where that gray cable stops and the fiber continues with just the black cable past my house. I'm wondering why they would go to the trouble of running this cable all the way from one of the small towns to the other in the first place? Being almost 3 miles out, I'm wondering if I should even bother trying to see if they will come out this far. The only option I currently have and use is Verizon LTE. I am NOT interested in satellite. Another obstacle for me would be my house is about 100 yards off the road. Any other members been in a similar situation? If so, what was the outcome?
