Hi, can anyone help?
I installed an SBG6580. It bonded to the cable downstream and upstream with better than 42dB SNR DL and about 47dBuV UL. I added the modem MAC to my cable account using Comcast's support. I get a WAN IP address and DNS. For a time the DNS could not be pinged from the modem's Diagnostics page, presumably due to IPV4 limitations.
Since the weekend has passed and the modem was powered up and idle I can now ping the DNS from the modem WAN diagnostics page and run a WAN tracert from the modem diagnostics page.
The LAN default gateway is the modem and the modem DHCP is working fine over wired and wireless.
My problem is I can't ping anything on the WAN from the LAN. I've tried disabling the firewall and rebooting the modem. I've tried both wired and wireless connections. I just can't get out. When I'm running a ping from the modem diagnostics page, the LAN gets a ping reply from the gateway, but that could be a bug.
Any thoughts on what to try?
