A quick background. I'm trying to help my father add internet back to his plan, after years of having only TV service. He currently has Digital Preferred TV.
He would like to purchase his own SB 6141 from Best Buy and do the install himself.
We were looking at the offers in our area (Savannah), and the Preferred SurePrice Double Play (Preferred + Blast) at $99.99/mo for 24 mos seems like the best option.
If he purchases the modem locally and orders the plan online from his Comcast account, does he need to do anything other than connect and plug in the modem? How does he communicate that he does not need to rent a modem and has his own? Is there anything else he needs to know?
