Ok... so I know enough about IPv6 to be dangerous... :)
I know that Comcast's implementation of IPv6 is DHCP+PD. I know how DHCP works, but not so much about the prefix delegation part of the equation. So hopefully a few questions about it aren't minded...
1. Is the Prefix Delegation part of the DHCP assignment/process, or is it something that is separately sent?
2. I assume a prefix has to be renewed like a DHCP address does? How often does this happen?
3. What is the likelihood that I'll get a new/different prefix when renewed? I'm guessing slim to none at this point given the abundant resource that IPv6 addresses are right now.
4. I would guess that there's some kind of expiration on a prefix delegation just like there is on DHCP addresses. What is Comcast's expiration period? i.e. How long could my router be off and when I turn it back on it will retain the same prefix?
