I work as a secretary at a small business. The owners recently switched our phones and internet to Comcast Business.
A check was mailed through their bank for the first Comcast bill about a month ago, but that payment was never applied. The accountant said that the check cleared and asked me to file a ticket with Comcast Business support, which I did.
A week later, I found the payment by myself: On my PERSONAL cable bill, registered to me at my home address. It's the same amount.
Now, my name is listed as a contact person for the work account, because part of my job is phone calls, but I don't handle the money, and besides confirming details over the phone I had nothing else to do with the service switch. It's a business account and was set up by management. None of my work contact info is the same as what I use for my home cable, and I don't even have Comcast internet! I do have a comcast.net email that I check sometimes at work. Could that have something to do with it?
I'm not making this up, and I'm worried I might have some explaining to do at work.
How could this happen?
