I'm trying to upgrade from residential service to Business Class HSI + Voice. I own an Arris eMTA that is certified on their network for both data and voice. They are refusing to give me service unless I pay their monthly equipment fee, which is going up $3/month sometime this month to $12.95/month.
Has anyone been successful in getting them to install with your own device for these services? Any suggestions on how to convince them?

"Hello Tom,
An eMTA (embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapter) is the device that combines the functionality of a cable modem for Internet service and VOIP (voice over internet protocol) for Digital Voice. Comcast uses an ARRIS eMTA. Per our business policy you are required to use our business EMTA that is compliant with our network. We need to be able to communicate with your equipment. I spoke to my business technical team about this as well, and they confirmed that we need to use our eMTA.
Sorry about this Tom, but this we cannot get around."
