So my setup is as follows:
X-Finity HSI 25/5
Zoom 5341J DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem
Apple Timecapsule / Airport
Macmini
Macbook Pro
So nothing too unusual there. Except when I do this
m@mbp:~% telnet 1.2.3.4 21
Trying 1.2.3.4...
Connected to 1.2.3.4.
Err wtf. Oh you know.. any and every random IPv4 address seems to connect to some ghost service running on port 21.
m@mbp:~% telnet cnn.com 21
Trying 157.166.226.26...
Connected to cnn.com.
m@mbp:~% telnet apple.com 21
Trying 17.172.224.47...
Connected to apple.com.
etc
I checked Airport Utility and my Apple router is not configured to do any port forwarding. Also... when I VPN into my box hosted at Amazon and browse through there, Port 21 acts like normal (eg refused connection on the majority of IP's)
Anyone have any idea is going on?
