$

Hello All Right now my 5ghz Width setting is locked on 20/40/80 setting is there a way to get it possibly unlocked to be able to use 20/40/80/160 setting so wifi 6 devices get the max speed? I don't care if Xfinity manages the channel autoly and such, right now all settings are managed, even though don't have xfinity pods--just 1 wireless tv box for upstairs TV Advice? suggestions? should i factory reset it when i got time, and setup manually with Laptop, or would it be a waste of time

Looking through cablelabs certification list there're arris s33v2 and sb8200v2, looks to be different from hardware versions which sb8200 already has 7? I was wondering if anyone knows if these v2 versions are already out and what's the difference between v1 and v2, and also if they are out how to get it, do you just buy new s33 and hope its v2? p.s also looks like netgear cm2500, cm3000 and cm3050 are coming out.

Webmail and moving?

My in laws refuse to move away from isp webmail and they’re moving to an area out of coverage. I’m trying to set them up with gmail so hoping I could get their email forwarded. Was hoping if anyone knew what happens when you move. Does your webmail shut down? Will the emails still forward elsewhere?

[Speed] Can Netgear CM600 get new Blast 600 mbps speeds?

$

I rebooted my modem today and got the new faster download and upload Blast speeds, but I’m unable to get a speed test faster than around 548 mbps. I’ve tested several devices, primarily over Wi-Fi, but my ASUS RT-AC88U reported a 802.11ac link speed of 860/860 which should be fast enough. That router is rated up to several gbps. I’ve read the CM600 supports up to 960 mbps, so something else must be going on. Signals looks great though. Should I expect to get the 600 mbps download speeds? 1 Locked QAM256 17 549000000 Hz -2.4 dBmV 41.2 dB 0 0 2 Locked QAM256 18 555000000 Hz -2.3 dBmV 41.0 dB 0 0 3 Locked QAM256 19 561000000 Hz -1.4 dBmV 41.7 dB 0 0 4 Locked QAM256 20 567000000 Hz -1.3 dBmV 41.5 dB 0 0 5 Locked QAM256 21 573000000 Hz -1.8 dBmV 41.1 dB 0 0 6 Locked QAM256 22 579000000 Hz -2.3 dBmV 40.9 dB 0 0 7 Locked QAM256 23 585000000 Hz -2.2 dBmV 41.0 dB 0 0 8 Locked QAM256 24 591000000 Hz -1.8 dBmV 41.2 dB 0 0 9 Locked QAM256 26 597000000 Hz -1.5 dBmV 41.5 dB 0 0 10 Locked QAM256 27 603000000 Hz -1.7 dBmV 41.3 dB 0 0 11 Locked QAM256 28 609000000 Hz -2.3 dBmV 40.9 dB 0 0 12 Locked QAM256 29 615000000 Hz -2.4 dBmV 40.8 dB 0 0 13 Locked QAM256 30 621000000 Hz -2.0 dBmV 40.5 dB 0 0 14 Locked QAM256 31 627000000 Hz -1.6 dBmV 40.4 dB 0 0 15 Locked QAM256 32 633000000 Hz -1.8 dBmV 40.5 dB 0 0 16 Locked QAM256 33 639000000 Hz -2.1 dBmV 40.4 dB 0 0 17 Locked QAM256 34 645000000 Hz -2.2 dBmV 41.4 dB 0 0 18 Locked QAM256 35 651000000 Hz -1.8 dBmV 41.9 dB 0 0 19 Locked QAM256 36 657000000 Hz -1.2 dBmV 42.1 dB 0 0 20 Locked QAM256 37 663000000 Hz -1.6 dBmV 41.9 dB 0 0 21 Locked QAM256 38 669000000 Hz -1.6 dBmV 41.6 dB 0 0 22 Locked QAM256 39 675000000 Hz -1.6 dBmV 41.4 dB 0 0 23 Locked QAM256 40 681000000 Hz -1.5 dBmV 41.7 dB 0 0 24 Locked QAM256 41 687000000 Hz -0.8 dBmV 42.2 dB 0 0 1 Locked ATDMA 6 5120 Ksym/sec 30100000 Hz 46.5 dBmV 2 Locked ATDMA 5 5120 Ksym/sec 36500000 Hz 46.5 dBmV 3 Locked ATDMA 7 5120 Ksym/sec 23700000 Hz 46.5 dBmV 4 Locked ATDMA 8 5120 Ksym/sec 17300000 Hz 46.8 dBmV

Modem rebooted overnight. New firmware: TB01.03.001.10_012022_212.S3 Also there's an annoying notice box on the modem's web interface now: "We recommend using our Mobile Application - SURFboard Central - for better experience configuring and accessing new features customized for your device." Not sure why I would want to use a phone app to see my modem stats when a web browser does the job fine. No apparent differences in latency or speed so far.

So, Yesterday I returned a XB7 to a Xfinity retail store in person and was handed a receipt. Yes, I am keeping it in a safe place until it's gone. It appears today it's still appearing on my account? Seems others have had returned equipment stay on their account for 1 - 3 Weeks. Curious if anybody else has had this here.

New Xfinity Install XB3 vs MB8611

So my new Xfinity internet was just installed this morning. They provided an XB3 since I'm only using the 50/10Mbps plan. I am surprised they are still using DOCSIS 3.0 modems. This first post will be about the XB3 and I will add another post later today or this weekend after I get the MB8611 up and running (it arrives today). Here is the connection info: Index Lock Status Frequency: SNR Power Level Modulation 1 Locked 399.00 MHz 40.95 dB 9.00 dBmV 256 QAM 2 Locked 405.00 MHz 40.37 dB 8.80 dBmV 256 QAM 3 Locked 411.00 MHz 40.95 dB 8.60 dBmV 256 QAM 4 Locked 417.00 MHz 40.95 dB 8.80 dBmV 256 QAM 5 Locked 423.00 MHz 40.37 dB 9.00 dBmV 256 QAM 6 Locked 435.00 MHz 40.37 dB 9.10 dBmV 256 QAM 7 Locked 441.00 MHz 40.95 dB 9.00 dBmV 256 QAM 8 Locked 447.00 MHz 40.95 dB 8.80 dBmV 256 QAM 9 Locked 453.00 MHz 40.95 dB 8.80 dBmV 256 QAM 10 Locked 459.00 MHz 40.37 dB 8.60 dBmV 256 QAM 11 Locked 465.00 MHz 40.37 dB 9.10 dBmV 256 QAM 12 Locked 471.00 MHz 40.37 dB 10.00 dBmV 256 QAM 13 Locked 477.00 MHz 40.95 dB 10.10 dBmV 256 QAM 14 Locked 483.00 MHz 40.95 dB 10.00 dBmV 256 QAM 15 Locked 489.00 MHz 40.95 dB 9.80 dBmV 256 QAM 16 Locked 495.00 MHz 40.95 dB 10.00 dBmV 256 QAM 17 Locked 501.00 MHz 40.95 dB 10.20 dBmV 256 QAM 18 Locked 507.00 MHz 40.37 dB 10.00 dBmV 256 QAM 19 Locked 513.00 MHz 40.95 dB 9.70 dBmV 256 QAM 20 Locked 519.00 MHz 40.95 dB 9.60 dBmV 256 QAM 21 Locked 525.00 MHz 40.95 dB 9.50 dBmV 256 QAM 22 Locked 531.00 MHz 40.95 dB 9.80 dBmV 256 QAM 23 Locked 537.00 MHz 40.95 dB 9.70 dBmV 256 QAM 24 Locked 543.00 MHz 40.95 dB 9.10 dBmV 256 QAM 25 Not Locked 26 Not Locked 27 Not Locked 28 Not Locked 29 Not Locked 30 Not Locked 31 Not Locked 32 Not Locked Does all that look normal? So far, speed tests look great at 59/12Mbps as expected but the buffer bloat results were odd. The download buffer bloat is terrible (+60ms) but upload bufferbloat is awesome (+0ms way better than my fiber is). Any tweaks to be made to improve download buffer bloat? Thanks. CM1000 Unsupported need to be upgraded?

Currently I’m using a CM1000 which I recently learned went EOL back in July last year. Speed wise I don’t to upgrade yet since we’re on the 600Mb plan and everything works fine. But I was wondering if I need to upgrade to a supported modem or will things run fine for a while?

Netgear IPv6 Problems With Comcast

I live in Montgomery County, MD and I currently have the Netgear RAX45 router which is connected to an Arris SB8200 modem. Consistently IPv6 disconnects after an hour or two and the only way to get it back is to reboot the router. I also tried IPv6 with the Netgear R6900P and the Netgear R6300 with the same results. I tried this with a different modem with the same results. Anyone else having IPv6 problems with a Netgear modem?

Years ago I wired a friend's place with cat6 because they only had one thing that needed wireless so they got a Netgear wireless router and used the ethernet ports on the router. Now he has a bunch of wireless gear that isn't getting good connections so he wants to install a mesh setup for the wireless but will still need the wired connections. The mesh router he is looking at has one ethernet port in and one out with 3 wireless satellites. Is it possible to wire the modem into the mesh router then the other port to a 6 port switch for the wired gear? I have read articles online that are confusing and I always get great answers here. Thank you.

Hi folks, We currently have the "up to...200mbps" plan. Unfortunately, I have never been able to get above 35mbps and regularly we are stuck around 15mbps with around 2-4 mbps up. Comcast has come out, re-ran the line from the pole to the house, moved the box on the outside of the house (claimed it was a distance issue from the box into the house), etc. still to no avail. We have the unlimited bandwidth package. We had the same results on a lower plan as well. We have also swapped the modem 3 times.

I don't really know where to put this, so I'm putting it here. I'm on the Xfinity Gigabit plan. I have a new Arris S33 modem and a new TP-Link AX55 WiFi/router. No sooner did I get everything up and running did I run into the stories about the TP-Link/Avira debacle. Now I have a new Motorola MG8702 modem/WiFi/router that Xfinity doesn't know how to provision. The S33 pulls down 950Gbps. And after three hours and two Xfinity agents, the best they can get out of the MG8702 is 2-300Mbps. Ultimately, they gave up and called it Motorola's problem. Question for the Court of Public Opinion: Persist with the Motorola or rest assured that TP-Link has or will resolve the issue with Avira? Sorry if this is vague and uninteligible but I have a Comcast headache.

[E-mail] Comcast.net emails on inactive account

Switched to WOW a year ago after 36 yrs. with Comcast. No problems with our 7 comcast.net email addresses until Mar. 20, 2022. All went dead. Managed to log into comcast.net and autoforward 6 of the 7 addresses, but not the primary address. Can't get into that as I think I disassociated my cell phone number as I did the autoforwarding on the other 6 emails. Called Comcast and they say nothing they can do since an inactive account. When I left Comcast, they said the emails would all stay active and they have. Until Saturday. Just need to get into that last primary email and set it to autoforward.
