Now that my upgrade to 300 settle down. I had a flyer in the mail about increasing my down load speed to 600, 900 or 1.2 gig. My son used is phone the Comcast site. It does state it is available.

[Rant] Chat promised a promo would appear in MIL's account by yesterday

MIL's promo expired. Now paying $58 a month for 100/5. Was $45 so the $3 increase they said was coming 01/01/22 and the expiration of the $10 a month promo. She already autopays/no mailed bill. On Jan 19th, I chatted with a rep who promised the 600 meg for $40 12 month promo would appear on her account on either Feb 6th or 7th and she would also receive an email with the offer. That never happened. I hate the way this company lies and also is the only player available to me. (And for some reason, I can't upload the screenshot here I took as proof so here's a link to it) https://imgur.com/TY65cVd

[OUTAGE] is innocent explanation?

Cable modem and separate router. Yesterday morning. Cable modem and all set top boxes lost access. Modem LED saif it was still getting a signal. Modem log said it had been deactivated. Stb status screens said roughly the same thing. After a while, everything was reactivated by itself. Modem leds displayed completely operational and boxes were working. But the router could not get an outside ip address. The router log said there was dhcp error, which roughly translated (I think) into dhcp refused because someone else using it's mac-address. A few hours later the router was able to get an address using the same mac-address. But it got a different address. I hope there is a harmless innocent explanation so I don't need to worry.

Comcasts refusal to push for FTTP/FTTH why? / Upload / Midsplit

I'm sure this is probably a duplicate topic but why the hell does Comcast have a stubborn refusal to push for FTTP/FTTH? Given the fact all the issues RF has with ingress, spectrum limitations etc. with high maintenance costs, and upstream capacity problems you'd figure they want to do away with it. The initial investment is expensive but when it's in place I bet their support costs would drop drastically, the service quality would improve drastically, and it would last for tens of years with plenty of upgrade room. IF they did they could utterly destroy any competition and likely many wouldn't push so hard for municipal broadband options which clear they want to shut down. Heck, They probably could even lobby for money to do but they just refuse and want to stick with dying HFC networks and DOCSIS. It's really starting to show serious limitations and to correctly deeply DOCSIS 4.0 FDX is going to require moving the node very close to users. Why not just go FTTP/FFTH at that point?

MB8600 Modem - Lost an upstream channel

MB8600 Modem - Lost an upstream channel For some reason I can tell based on the event log reported by the modem, out of 4 upstrean channels , I only see 3 now. Midco tech checked and didn't find anything wrong. There are 4 channels seen on his test meter. The 4th channel has 40dBv but modem won't show it. Not sure if that would cause these events in the modem?. Does anyone would the possible cause of these ? Not ready to commit to Xfinity Voice. Can I subscribe today requesting a new number and after evaluating the service can I port in my existing landline number over the new number? Or do I need to enter a new order and request porting as part of the order process and then cancel the no longer needed temporary line? Thanks.

Power levels dropped massively + lower SNR overnight

$

For the past year my service has worked perfect after some issues with it at the very beginning. My typical downstream power ranged from like -2 to +2 depending on the frequency. For some reason 3 nights ago, at like 4am while I was watching TV, I started getting tiling / pixelation across half my channels + Internet is running slower. I checked my signal levels then and all the downstream values have plummeted to -10 to as low as -16, with SNR at like 32 on some channels. Upstream levels are unchanged. I'm not sure what happened. It's like they changed something. I'm also unsure what to do about it, since calling the normal support line will just get me a premise tech sent out who can do nothing on the plant itself where the issue is. (I tested directly connected at the DEMARC into the drop - same result). Any suggestions would be helpful.

[Activate] Anyone having problems with the walled garden activation page?

When I installed my Netgear CM1000 I could not get the walled garden page to do much at all, I have in the past used the app to activate modems. But I dont like doing that. Using the walled garden page now gives me 404 errors and it just wont get to the modem provisioning side. It would seem that they are now forcing the users to use the app. My only gripe about the app is that it will keep your old modem in the my device info page.

[Equip] Is the Netgear CM1000 still supported by Xfinity?

$

Looking into activating my Netgear CM1000 since my area has Docsis 3.1 now. I assume this because I have a rate card saying new speeds are available. I looked at the device page only the revised version 2 of the Netgear CM1000 is listed. So is the first CM1000 not compatible with Xfinity? I am kinda confused as to why they would revise the modem since its just that, a modem.

[Install] Is Gigabit pro even possible for an apartment?

$

So, I'm curious if Comcast would bring gigabit pro to an apartment? The wiring here is all overhead and they could bring in the fiber drop directly into the wall. Nothing is underground. Around 1200 feet from the node so fiber would have to be run along poles. This however isn't a fiber splice point possibly. Not sure if this would push it over their budget limit. Seems likely it would. Tho a picture of node setup is here if helps at all. Property management would have zero issues with them drilling into the wall. Not sure if this something they would or anybody has had before.

Connection issues in Indianapolis

I have just been testing my modem with direct connection outside to the drop to rule out my home run wiring as an issue. Getting same results so it's not me. Outside temperature is 27 degrees so I'm thinking Comcast will tell me 1s and 0s flow slower in the cold. Modem is a CM1000 which should support my speed just fine from what I've read on it. I can never get more than 20ish channels to lock. Modem connection info calls it "partial service." At 543000000 Hz and below I start to have signal issues and lots of uncorrectable errors. Same with the high frequency OFDM channel. Question I have is it common to have some sort of interference at that frequency? I just upgraded to a 600 Mb tier and with all the uncorrectable errors I can barely get 120 Mb. Within 5 minutes of uptime I have millions of uncorrectable on channels close to 543000000 and half million on the OFDM channel. Connection info below... [Speed] Line tech claims upload speed increase coming this year

This guy on Reddit who says he's a Comcast line tech says that they're planning to launch 1Gbps symmetrical business service later this year, and preparation for higher residential upload speeds is also being worked on. Since DOCSIS 4.0 is not ready yet (no equipment available), this would have to be a high-split using 3.1. reddit.com/r/Comcast_Xfinity/comments/o29720/are_we_just_never_going_to_get_decent_upload/h33tyiq/ Has anyone heard anything about this? This seems unlikely to me.
