Hello all,
I have a Motorola Surfboard 5120 (as well as 4 backups of this device haha) that has never had a problem. As soon as we moved to a new apartment complex in the Denver area we started getting random disconnects multiple times a day. Also I noticed that when it disconnects the internet our cable TV signal will "blip" as well, even so much as locking up that channel so you have to change channels to get the signal back.
When I look at my modem info I see:
Downstream Value
Frequency 645000000 Hz
Signal to Noise Ratio 37 dB
QAM QAM256
Network Access Control Object ON
Power Level 2 dBmV
The Downstream Power Level reading is a snapshot taken at the time this page was requested. Please Reload/Refresh this Page for a new reading
Upstream Value
Channel ID 11
Frequency 30000000 Hz
Ranging Service ID 4433
Symbol Rate 5.120 Msym/s
Power Level 48 dBmV
Here are the recent logs, it seems to keep cycling through these messages:
2013-08-24 06:09:08 4-Error DIST: Management Message with unidentified Version->4 - Discard message
2013-08-24 05:48:52 7-Information DS multicast is not mapped to SAID
2013-08-24 05:48:52 7-Information B605.10 Map Reject - Downstream Traffic Flow Not Mapped to BPI+ SAID
2013-08-24 05:48:52 7-Information B601.0 SA Map State Machine Started
2013-08-24 05:48:51 4-Error DIST: Management Message with unidentified Version->4 - Discard message
I have of course worked with Xfinity / Comcast to try and troubleshoot that, but I am sure you all know how successful that can be.
Anything difinitive from that information that anyone can see that would indicate why I have this problem?
Think it is a signal issue having to do with the line being split many times due to it being an apartment complex?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
