I have an SB6120 (DOCSIS3) modem that I bought from TekSavvy (Canada) a couple of years back. Not using it now, and I'd like to take it to FL this winter when I go to visit family. Is this a supported modem for Comcast? (Up here, TekSavvy has a list of modems that Rogers has approved, and it must be one of those -- can't find a similar list for Comcast).
The past couple of years we've rented the modem when we activated internet, it's not too bad since we started paying $10 for delivery instead of spending an hour at Comcast, but the return has been a hassle (no record of return, though they've always found it when we pushed). If I'm not using the modem up here, taking it along would save both $7/mo (+$10 shipping) and hassle when we leave.
If I can't just bring my TS modem, is there a list somewhere of modems I could buy on Amazon or Best Buy? Don't know if we'll go for 6Mb/s or 50Mb/s (or whatever their tiers are now) so I'd probably consider a DOCSIS3 modem than can handle either.
Any other tips would also be appreciated. Even logged in, I can't find much useful info on Comcast site.
Thanks!
