I'm not answering the poll just yet.
I'm new to Comcast for high-speed Internet. In fact, I'm going to be having it installed next week. Reason for my switch is because of the choice in faster speed levels. (I have a relative outside my state with Comcast. And, during visits, I have been able to see it in person.)
I bought, at a nearby Best Buy, The Motorola | Arris [Model] SBG6782AC (SURFboard Modem & Wi-Fi Router AC1800M).
I am coming from a DOCSIS 2.0 to a DOCSIS 3.0. (My speed will go from 15 Mpbs download/1 Mbps upload to the Comcast "Blast" of 50 Mpbs download/5 Mbps upload introductory package.)
As of May 13, 2015, I see that barely anyone from this poll has this Modem/Router. I was recommended it by a Best Buy employee, who said it's better than the Comcast-brand one which also supports Phone. (I'm going to be an Internet-only customer.) I haven't kept track of modems (obviously, with my hanging onto a DOCSIS 2.0 at this point); but, perhaps, I'm in a minority here because the product is newer (although it's been out for more than a year)?!
I've seen positive reviews of the SBG6782 on Amazon.com. Can anyone weigh in on offering an opinion of it?
