My husband and I were spending some "quality time" this afternoon in my home office writing code :) - because a key data source function on a MSFT Excel spreadsheet I use has just been discontinued :(. And he said the internet in my office (both wired and wireless) is about 100 times better than what he's getting in his home office.
Anyway - to make a long story short - I've been thinking about how to deal with this stuff for a while now. And the easiest way to solve the problem - at least for me (my husband is good at writing code but hopeless when it comes to connecting devices) - and at least for now - is to get a second Comcast HSI account/modem for him.
I assume I can set up 2 accounts in a single house - yes (as long as I'm willing to pay for them)?
Does hooking up 2 separate accounts/modems to a single set of wiring present any technical issues?
And - has anyone done this before? I assume I can at least get an "intro" package on a second account for 12 months - but is there any possibility of doing better in any way/shape/form?
FWIW - we can easily afford a second account (not to brag - it's just sometimes I've found that the easiest way to solve a problem is by throwing money at it). And I really dread the thought of fiddling endlessly to get better wifi in the house (and perhaps buying and returning numerous pieces of equipment during the course of my fiddling). Also - I would probably start the second service with a rental modem. And then - if it works out - go to buying a modem. If I don't need a modem to support CC voice - it seems like there are lots of options in terms of buying one.
Any and all input would be appreciated. And Merry Christmas Eve (our traditional chili and cornbread are all ready :))! Robyn
