The IP address I have had for years has suddenly changed. I knew that day would eventually happened as it wasn't supposed to be a static IP. However when I do a reverse DNS on my new IP address, it now has a geolocation code for Florida in the answer (*.hsd1.fl.comcast.net) instead of my actual home state a thousand miles away. Sites like Speedtest use the geolocation information in the reverse DNS to pick the closest server, and the CDNs may now direct me to a farther data center reducing streaming video performance.
Has anyone else ever had this problem?
