My customer has one of these gateways with a static IP. He also has a Linksys EA2700 router with the connection from the Netgear to the WAN port of the Linksys. DHCP is enabled on both. The Netgear remains 10.1.10.1 and the Linksys is 192.168.1.x. I'm installing IP cameras for him. I need to be able to port forward and am unable to get this done. I read posts where it was recommended to put the Netgear into a pseudo-bridge mode by ensuring that both True Static IP Firewall and Smart Packet Detection were both disabled and DHCP was disabled.
The default had the firewall and packet detection disabled but DHCP was enabled. Disabling this shut the connection to the internet down as well as to the gateway. I had to use the reset button to restore service.
Given this, what can be done? Some have said that a call to Comcast would resolve this as they can configure what needs to be done. I need help. Thanks
