Running into an issue with cascading/double NAT on my Comcast Xfinity internet connection. Current setup is as follows:
Modem: Cisco DCP3939 with wireless disabled. DMZ setup for static IP address of home router.
Home Router: Linksys WRT1900AC. Router is set to static IP. DMZ was setup on modem as a workaround to this issue but not working correctly. Ethernet is plugged into port 1 of both Cisco DCP3939 and WRT1900AC.
Would the best approach to this be to contact Comcast and have them set DCP3939 to bridge mode and just rerun initial config on WRT1900AC? Once Comcast sets modem to bridged mode, does it revert back in a reboot? I've read others having this problem which is why I was hoping for a bit more of a permanent fix. Thanks in advance.
