I've seen numerous posts in this forum about missing or incorrect modems on subscribers equipment lists provided by Comcast. The usual concern is its effect on monthly useage but in my case I'm not concerned about that, I'm concerned about firmware updates not being pushed to my device.
My data modem is a SB6141 and my voice modem is a Technicolor 8305. My equipment list on my account on Comcast.net shows 3 Zooms. which are long gone, and the Technicolor. No mention at all of the 6141 which is been in use for more than 2 years.
The 6141 is working beautifully and to date I've not concerned myself with its absence from the list. My speeds are about 119/12. But you can see i may be a few firmware pushes behind and my gut feeling is that's not a bas thing, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
