[Connectivity] SYNC failures in modem log, now having bursts of packet loss

came home from class to find that my download/upload speeds were a 4th of what they should be (100/20 BCI tier). large file transfers would start & stop every few seconds, pingtest.net reported 38% packet loss, and general slowness is felt. i isolated myself down to just 1 computer wired into my Zoom 5341J, multiple ethernet cords were tried, and the issue remains. a PC & a Mac were both used to test, but several phones & tablets all experienced the same problem. the modem logs show a large amount of the SYNC "failed to acquire" messages above, repeating every ~15-30 minutes or so. does it appear i might have a failing modem? or could there be line work/problems?
