I'm on the plan with up to 400mbps down and 10mbps up. I am using the SB6183 cable modem with a Netgear R6700AX router. My last speed test showed 440mbps down and 12mbps up. It showed a latency of 22. Seems like I'm getting all the speed I'm paying for. I got a confusing email from Comcast saying that I need to upgrade my cable modem to get full speed. Why would I need to replace my modem? Can somebody please explain this? Do I need to do anything? Thanks in advance. Becca

Upload speed question
I have 1200/35 with CM8200A LAG enabled to RT-AX88U WAN Aggregation enabled. My upload from a speedtest always starts at 10+/20+ Mbps then slowly climbs to 40Mbps at the end. The uplink light on my modem is green instead of blue. Do I need a different modem in order to get a more consistent upload speed?

Chicago area # of channels
Just out of curiosity... am I interpreting this correctly? According to my modem information, channel 4 is locked onto channel ID 45. Does that mean Comcast has 45 channels in my area?

[Equip] XB7 - Voiding a DHCP Lease on a Local Device
I've got an XB7 gateway. I use DHCP on all of the local devices in the house. One of my set-top TV boxes is connected to the gateway via an Ethernet cable and, as expected, the associated MAC address is listed on the gateway GUI's "Connected Devices > Devices" page. However, said set-top box's WiFi MAC address is also shown on said page (albeit with an "RSSI Level" value of "undefined dBm".
How do I remove said WiFi lease from the system?
TIA!

Extremely suspicious drop. How to deal with this?
So I had a service outage today and been battling on and off upload issues. A few tickets have been opened for ingress issues it appears.
Today, I discovered this lovely install that looks extremely suspicious.
The white and brown building are separate apartments and not related at all.
While I can't confirm this is the source of my ingress issues again, It is extremely suspicious.

XB7 - Not reporting codewords
My XB7 Gateway has not recorded codewords for several months. When I reboot the gateway it will show an initial unerrored codewords under 10000 for each channel while the modem syncs up. Other than that though, the numbers don't change. Correctable and uncorrectable stay at 0. Is this another feature Comcast has disabled or is there something wrong with my gateway?

[Business] All the differences between consumer and Business service?
Hello folks!
I've had Comcast Business service for over a decade now. When my current contract is up I'm thinking of switching to a consumer account because they offer much more speed for the money, and was wondering if there were any differences beyond these:
- I would have a usage cap: 1.2TB (I rarely exceed even 500GB so this is not a concern.)
- No availability of static IP (I don't have nor need a static IP anymore)
- Only one WAN IP available (I thought I might use more than one someday but never have)
- Business account has better customer service that I'd lose (I've called maybe twice in ten years? Not worth it.)
For the $109 a month I'm paying now for 150/20 I could have gigabit! So I'm curious what others think and if there's any caveats I haven't thought of. I have another 1.5 years to think about it before my current contract is up.

[Signals] OFDMA for Upstream?? When?
So a few weeks ago here in Castle Rock, CO I swear I saw my SB8200 bonded to a OFDMA upstream channel and I know for a fact I was getting 40Mb US on my BlastPro. I wish I had the speed test to prove it. Now I don't see the OFDMA channel any longer and I'm getting 12Mb US again. I've rebooted the modem and don't see it trying bond to the OFDMA any longer. Did it get shut down on the CMTS? When is this getting turned on? Also once OFDMA is finalized will the upload speeds be increased at all? 12Mb with multiple people on video conference calls is trash. Especially when the webcams are starting to come standard 4K now.

[Other] Comcast isn't joining in on the latest media M&A frenzy
Given the recently announced merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery and Amazon's $8.45B purchase of MGM, Comcast says it's not currently planning on joining in:
Comcast won't rush into the media M&A frenzy
By Jeff Baumgartner, Light Reading - May 26, 2021
https://www.lightreading.com/videomedia/comcast-wont-rush-into-media-manda-frenzy-/d/d-id/769801quote:Despite a recent flurry of media-related M&A activity and perceptions that scale is the key to success in the direct-to-consumer streaming era, Comcast is making it clear that it won't be making any knee-jerk decisions. In fact, Comcast, owner of NBCUniversal, appears content to stand pat, if necessary.
"We've got a track record" with media M&A, Comcast CFO Mike Cavanagh acknowledged today at the JP Morgan Technology, Media and Communications Conference, in a likely reference to Comcast's acquisition of NBCUniversal in 2011 and NBCU's purchase of DreamWorks Animation in 2016.
"But hear me loud and clear: We like the hand we have. M&A is not an answer. We like the hand we have without M&A," Cavanagh said. "But we'll obviously do what's right for shareholders as time passes."
Cavanagh stressed that it's Comcast's job to consider deals that are "smart and add value." But he said the media giant still must weigh whether potential transactions are a good strategic fit and can be had at the right price.
Comcast's stance on media M&A is under the spotlight amid a recent wave of deals that include a proposed tie-up of WarnerMedia and Discovery and Amazon's $8.45 billion play for MGM.
Speculation is running rampant that Comcast needs to make a big move as well, with ViacomCBS among the rumored potential M&A targets: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/05/17/warnermedia-discovery-deal-pressures-viacomcbs-and-nbcuniversal.html
Meanwhile, cable industry magnate and legend John Malone stirred the pot this week by asserting that "there's no question" that Comcast chairman and CEO Brian Roberts would have wanted to snap up WarnerMedia, and suggesting the possibility of a future merger combining WarnerMedia, Discovery and NBCU: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/05/24/john-malone-comcast-ceo-brian-roberts-wanted-to-acquire-warnermedia.html
Cavanagh was pressed if Comcast believes Peacock, the NBCU streaming service that launched last summer, is big enough to go it alone as media giants combine and others put their full weight behind direct-to-consumer streaming services. He reiterated a stance that M&A is not the only play, and a play that is not always guaranteed to work out.
"Just because you buy from the other guy doesn't mean you're going to operate it well. We've been very focused on making sure when we acquire stuff, we do not take lightly the ability to operate well, execute well. That's critical if you're going to go about it that way," Cavanagh said. "We like the rhythm we have. We like the culture we have. We like the scale of our libraries."
NBCU, he added, is also in position to invest more in content and partner up, where appropriate. "And certainly we can consider M&A, but you've got a whole host of things you've got to face up to if you're going to go down that third route. So I like where we are." …

Xfinity wifi Guest hotspot turned to hidden network .
The "Xfinity wifi" guest(public) hotspot turned into "hidden network" and can't be reached.
A background information, I am selling my house and the realtors and the marketing people need internet connection however I do not want them on my home network. I rented a comcast modem in order to get them on a separate network "Xfinity wifi" hotspot network.
Everything worked great until they started doing these 3D virtual house tours pictures, then one day the "Xfinity wifi" switched over to "Hidden Network"
I did a google search and someone else reported this same thing happening and after spending over 40 hours talking to comcast customer service reps without any resolution.
Many offshore comcast reps seem to be working off a script and if your problem is not in their script they end up just trying to answer unrelated questions you never asked. One guy just put me on hold and I think went home because he had no idea how to fix this.
In any event, does anyone have any idea how to fix this or at least what is the correct Comcast department for this?
Thanks .
